  • Opioid prescribing best practices or the opioid prescribing rules: one-time CE of at least 1 hour for physicians licensed to prescribe opioids (eff. 2019-01-01, WAC 246-919-875)

Equivalency

in lieu of hours: current AMA Physician's Recognition Award in at least 2 of the 4 years preceding renewal; ABMS member-board certification in the 4 years preceding renewal; or meeting ABMS MOC participation requirements at renewal (WAC 246-919-430)

Osteopathic (DO) board differs. WA-O: 150 h/3 yr, 60 Category 1; one-time 6-hour suicide assessment course; one-time ≥1-hour opioid-prescribing CE (eff. 2019-01-01); 2 hours health equity per cycle; ABOMS or ABMS certification/recertification within the last 6 years accepted as equivalent (WAC 246-853-080, -070, -065, -685)
